Digging Deeper

The first topic I decided to dig deeper into was Oud instrument. This is to be considered the king of all instruments. It's also considered to be the oldest too. Its name means "a thin strip of wood" in arabic. The back was made of several strips of bent wood that are glued together to form a bowl. The back sorta looks like a pear. Usually the open side is known as the rosette. The two distinctive features of this instrument is it's pear shaped body and its fretless neck. It consists of about 11 strings, and about 3 sound holes. The sound Is produced by its hollow body vibrating as the strings are being plucked. One of a well known Oud player is George Mgrdichian. He was known to many as the Oud master. He was credited as the first player bringing the Oud into classical music venues, such as Carnegie Hall.  I saw the YouTube video inserted about the Quran completion.
